A note from the Director…

Crossroads has served the Central Ohio community since the summer of 2002. We have brought together therapists with a variety of rich educational and professional experiences. Our team has many decades of combined clinical expertise covering a wide range of specialty areas. The common thread for the staff at Crossroads is a shared commitment to clinical excellence and professionalism. We also seek to reflect our Christian faith in a respectful manner. Please don’t hesitate to call and speak with any of us as you search for the right therapist for your situation. We’re glad to answer your questions and share our perspectives as we strive to offer all our clients hope and direction along the way.

Meet our Clinical Staff

Doug Arnold, PCC

After receiving his bachelor of Science degree from Taylor University and teaching for two years, Doug received a Master of Divinity degree in clinical psychology and counseling from Ashland Seminary. He is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over twelve years’ experience at area non-profit organizations as a clinician and as a program director of successful behavioral health treatment services.

The bulk of Doug’s experience is in helping adults, adolescents and their families on disruptive behavior issues often with co-occuring problems with substance abuse. He also works with clients to address anxiety, depression, and health issues caused by maladaptive behavior. Doug provides individual, group or family counseling using family systems methodolgy.

 

Roy Bobbitt, LISW

Roy received his Bachelor of Arts in psychology and Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University. He began his counseling career as a psychotherapist in a family-serving community mental health clinic. Roy served a large evangelical congregation for many years as a counselor, supervisor and teacher.
Roy is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with twenty years of counseling experience. He primarily operates from a systems-oriented perspective specializing in men’s issues, family struggles and marriage therapy. Roy also provides preparation for pre-marital couples through our Together For Life program.

Shawn Ives, MA, PCC

Shawn completed a Bachelor of Arts in music and a Master of Arts in Speech and Language Pathology at The Ohio State University. He then completed a Master of Science in Community Counseling from University of Dayton. Shawn is recognized in Ohio as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
Shawn provides services for children, teens, and adults.  He has significant experience in conducting assessments and is a trained provider of Family Rules: Positive Parenting with a Plan.  Shawn practices psychotherapy to help individuals, parents, and families address a variety of issues – including the complex challenges associated with young people and families battling Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and Same Sex Attraction.

Kelly Oberbrunner, PCC

Kelly holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Cedarville University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Grace College. Kelly has practiced in Ohio and Indiana and served as the on-site counselor at Ancilla College, where she provided crisis intervention services. In addition to working in private practice, Kelly has clinical experience working with a nonprofit agency.

Kelly is recognized by the state of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and specializes in adolescent & young adult issues. Areas of clinical focus include mood disorders as well as issues related to challenging peer and/or family relationships.

Eric B. Pickering, PhD, Psychologist

Eric earned a Bachelor of Arts at Butler University and a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in School Psychology from The Ohio State University. Eric is the school psychologist for a district in the Columbus area and serves private practice clients at Crossroads.

Eric is a licensed psychologist in the state of Ohio. He provides psychological evaluations for children, adolescents and adults. Eric does a great job assessing, understanding and explaining the interplay between cognitive, learning, and mental heath dynamics. In addition to conducting evaluations, he also provides treatment services for adolescents and adults who are struggling with ADHD.

Gregory M. Schad, LISW, IMFT, LICDC

Greg received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University. He has many years of experience working with individuals, couples and families in a variety of settings including churches, schools, hospitals, corporations, and community mental health.

Greg serves as Executive Director for Crossroads Counseling Group and Crossroads Consultation. He holds the independent level of licensure in social work and in marriage and family therapy. Greg works with teenagers and adults and offers individual, marital, and family counseling.

Jan Seabaugh, MA, PC

Jan holds a Master of Arts in Clinical and Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. She is recognized in Ohio as a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Jan works with adults and couples. She specializes in women’s issues, codependency, mood disorders, grief, adjustment issues, and trauma recovery. Jan is also experienced using EMDR as a therapeutic tool.

Stephen A. Silliman, PCC-S

Steve received his Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Science in Education (Social Agency Counseling) from the University of Dayton. He is currently working towards the completion of a Doctorate in Counselor Education at Ohio University. Steve has ten years of clinical experience as a psychotherapist in both community mental health settings and private practice.

Steve is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. He offers services for adults and adolescents struggling with various mood disorders (and specifically covert male depression), men’s issues, anger issues, and relationship difficulties. He has significant experience facilitating group therapy as well as individual therapy.

Nancy Trux, LISW

Nancy received her B.A. and M.S.W. from The Ohio State University. In her extensive post-graduate experience, Nancy has served as clinician, administrator and consultant for business & non-profit organizations. In 2000, she was selected to serve on a Best Practices committee created by the Ohio Department of Mental Health.

Nancy assists clients who want to address issues related to loss or trauma, anxiety, difficulty concentrating or sleeping, angry outbursts or relationship issues. She also provides coaching for highly motivated results-oriented people who want to enhance their performance level professionally. Nancy is able to masterfully incorporate EMDR into her therapeutic and her coaching services. Click here for additional information about Nancy and her services.

Kathryn Wisne, PCC-S

Kathryn earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling from California State University. She is recognized in Ohio as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor.

Kathryn provides clinical services for folks who are battling mood disorders and major life transitions. She has experience working with complicated issues with women and has had years of success helping couples address issues in their marriage.

Our clinical staff members make themselves available for speaking and trainings on topics related to their areas of specialty.
